Tel Abyad, Syria−  A 15-year-old boy was shot dead on Friday morning by a sniper of the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) in Kendall village west of Girespi/Tel Abyad city, northeast Syria.

Local sources said that the ISIL sniper was stationed in the Buqajagh area when he shot the 15-year-old Murad Fayyad Resho.

One of Resho’s relatives told ARA News in a phone call that the victim was shot dead in front of his family’s house in Kendall village.

“After the the ISIL group took Buqajagh area as a stronghold, the ISIL-linked snipers took  positions at the tops of residential buildings observing the movement in the area,” he said. “Murad is a victim of their barbarism.”

Recently, the western countryside of Tel Abyad −where Kendall village and Buqajagh are located− saw sporadic clashes between the ISIL and the Kurdish forces of the Popular Protection Units (YPG) over the recent months. The Islamist group of ISIL bombed several villages in Tel Abyad’s suburbs with mortar and homemade shells under the pretext of fighting against the YPG.

Hundreds of families were displaced due to the growing control of ISIL group in Tel Abyad area, in Raqqa province north Syria.
