More explosive barrels hit Aleppo

Aleppo, Syria− At least 12 civilians were killed and dozens of others injured in Aleppo province on Monday ,after the pro-regime air force dropped explosive barrels on several areas in the city and its countryside north of Syria.

Aleppo’s bombings coincided with fierce clashes between the regime forces on the one hand and the armed opposition fighters of the Free Syrian Army (FSA) and the Islamic Front on the other.

Walid Yassin, media activist based in Aleppo, told ARA News that pro-regime helicopters dropped explosive barrels on Tel Aqrah village in near Azaz city, north of Aleppo. the bombings claimed lives of 6 civilians while 10 others were reportedly wounded. 

“The injured were taken to field hospitals in the city of Azaz in Aleppo suburb,” said Yassin. “Many residential buildings were damaged due to the bombings on Monday.” 

“Another civilian was killed by the pro-regime snipers near the Booking Garage in Aleppo downtown,” Yassin added. “Many civilians were killed by those snipers who were stationed on the city’s tower and buildings overlooking the crossing on the side of the al-Izza and al-Mashariqa neighbourhoods”.

Meanwhile, local sources reported that five civilians were killed and ten others were injured after the regime helicopters bombed Ba’edeen neighbourhood in Aleppo with explosive barrels, while the regime air force targeted Azzan mount south of Aleppo with missiles shelling.
