Urfa, Turkey− On Monday, four militants of al-Qaeda splinter group of the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) died in the main hospital of the city of Tel Abyad, affected by their injuries −caused by clashes with the Kurdish forces of the Popular Protection Units (YPG) and al-Akrad Front in the nearby village of Kendal.
Local sources in Tel Abyad (Girespi) told ARA News that among the dead there was a Chechen member of ISIL.
The same sources emphasized that the ISIL was forced to use tanks to take out its injured members from the vicinity of the clashes in Kendal village, to avoid snipers of the YPG who spread on the tops of buildings in the area.
Recently, the Kurdish villages between Tel Abyad and Kobane city saw fierce clashes between the ISIL on the one hand and the YPG and al-Akrad Front on the other hand. The area also saw large surge of displacement among civilians over the last few days.
