Dozens of children reported dead in Aleppo air strike

Aleppo, Syria− The pro-regime warplanes bombed on Wednesday a primary school in the neighbourhood of al-Sukkari in Aleppo city. At least 25 civilians were killed in the attack and more than twenty others wounded. 

Omar Aziz, civil rights activist based in the city of Aleppo, told ARA News that the pro-Assad warplanes bombed Ain Jolan School in al-Sukkari neighbourhood with Thermobaric weapon (missile), killing twenty-five people (mostly children) and injuring nearly twenty others. The injured were transferred to nearby field hospitals.

“The rocket caused severe material damage in the building as several teams of civil defence and with the help of residents arrived in the area to take out the injured from the rubble,” Aziz said.  

Meanwhile, al-Ansari neighborhood in the city of Aleppo was reportedly exposed to a similar bombing by pro-Assad warplanes. The attack injured a number of civilians, some of them were seriously injured. They were taken to a field hospital near the neighbourhood, according to locals. 

In the same context, Hussein Hajer, media activist based in the city, told ARA News that the pro-regime warplanes launched several raids on the predominantly Kurdish neighbourhoods of al-Sakhour and al-Ashrafiya.

“The attack claimed lives of five civilians and wounded dozens others in al-Sakhour, while three casualties among civilians were reported in the al-Ashrafiya,” Hajer reported.
