Aleppo, Syria – One civilian was reported dead and dozen others were wounded on Thursday, in an air strike by the pro-regime helicopters on the town of Tel Rifaat in the countryside of Aleppo, north of Syria.
Imad Hussein, civil activist based in Aleppo, stated to ARA News that the pro-Assad air force dropped an explosive barrel on a residential neighbourhood in Tel Rifaat town, killing one civilian and wounding ten others.
“Most of the wounded were children and women,” Hussein said.
Meanwhile, several neighbourhoods in the city of Aleppo were exposed to similar bombardment with explosive barrels dropped by the Syrian air force. Among the neighbourhoods exposed to bombardment were al-Shaar, Bab al-Naser, al-Muasaat, Hullok and al-Tall.
According to local sources, the bombardment resulted in large material damage in the buildings, but no casualties were reported as the majority of these neighbourhoods residents evacuated their houses hours before the air strikes.
