Hasakah, Syria   People in the Islamic State-held town of Tel Hamis in Hasakah province, northeast of Syria, found on Friday dead bodies of two men on the road linking Tel Hamis with Qamishli city.

The bodies were identified by locals as one of them belonged to a Syrian police officer, Raed al-Jarbou, and the member of the pro-Assad militia of National Defence, Mohammed Salim.

“Both men were apparently shot dead in the head,” locals told ARA News.

The same sources confirmed that al-Jarbou and Salim were among the passengers of the recently hijacked bus on Hasakah-Qamishli road. The hijacked bus was carrying two other officers whose destiny is still unknown.

Various sources in Hasakah city stated previously to ARA News that militants of the Islamic State (known as ‘ISIL’) hijacked a bus on June 23, and arrested its passengers who were moved to to the nearby ISIL-held town of Tel Brak.

“Next to al-Jarbou and Salim, two officers of the Syrian regime army were among the captured,” the sources said.
