Sere Kaniye (Ras al-Ain), Syria – On Friday, Kurdish forces of the Popular Protection Units stormed headquarters of the militants of the Islamic State (IS/ISIS) in the countryside of Sere Kaniye (Ras al-Ain) in northeastern Syria, military sources told ARA News

“After days of preparations, our (YPG) forces launched strategic military operations against terrorists of the Islamic State in the countryside of Sere Kaniye,” the YPG Media Center reported.

The source said dozens of IS militants were killed and injured, adding that the Kurdish fighters seized large quantity of weapons and ammunition from the militants headquarters in major villages of Sere Kaniye, including the village of al-Manajeer.

“Their (IS’) attempts to control this area have failed, and we (YPG) are determined to free all Kurdish soil of these terrorists,” a YPG fighter told ARA News

At least two YPG fighters were killed during Friday’s operations in Sere Kaniye.
