U.S.-led coalition renews anti-ISIS operations in Syria and Iraq

Damascus, Syria – The U.S.-led international coalition’s warplanes renewed strikes against locations of the radical group of the Islamic State (IS/ISIS) in Syria and Iraq.

The U.S. Central Command said in a statement that 15 strikes were launched against IS strongholds since Wednesday.

In Iraq, the U.S.-led coalition hit IS military units and armored vehicles with 12 raids. The operations were centered on Mosul and Kirkuk, Tel Afar and Makhmur.

In Syria, the airstrikes hit six positions of IS militants in the countryside of Kobane and Hasakah, northern Syria.
