Damascus, Syria – On Monday, at least four Syrian refugees died when flames engulfed their mobile home in the Syrian refugee camp of Zaatari, in northern Jordan, according to sources inside the camp.
All victims were reportedly members of one family.
Zaatari camp contains thousands of mobile houses where refugee families are taking shelter. More than 70,000 Syrian refugees are based in Zaatari.
“It’s still too early to find out what happened in the dawn incident, but a gas cylinder widely used for heating was found at the scene,” said Andrew Harper, head of the UNHCR in Jordan.
