QAMISHLI – The German rapper who joined the radical group of Islamic State (ISIS) –known for threatening President Barack Obama– was killed in a U.S. airstrike in Syria, a U.S. official said in a statement.

The victim’s real name is Denis Cuspert (aka Abu Talha al-Almani or by his former stage name, Deso Dogg) was one of the most famous foreign fighters of the terror group.

“I can confirm the death of Denis Cuspert in an anti-ISIS airstrike near the Syrian city of Raqqa,” U.S. Defense Department spokeswoman Elissa Smith said.

The rapper reportedly joined ISIS in 2012 and has appeared in numerous videos circulated by pro-ISIS loyalists on the social media.

In November 2014, Cuspert appeared in a footage holding a cut off head he claimed it belonged to an opponent man executed by ISIS.

Cuspert, who was a chief recruiter of German jihadi fighters, had sworn allegiance to the alleged Islamic Caliphate of Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi.

Jihadi Cuspert threatened Obama and American and German citizens, inciting Western Muslims to carry out what he called “Jihadi operations” against American and European interests in the West, according to Smith.

“Cuspert was a foreign terrorist fighter and operative for ISIL (ISIS) who used social media to take advantage of disaffected youth and potential Western recruits,” she said in a brief statement.

In April 2014, jihadist sources said Cuspert had been killed in Syria but later they retracted the news.

The German rapper was listed by the United Nations as supporter of al-Qaeda extremist organization.

Denis Cuspert had ended his rap career after converting to Islam and taking the name Abou Maleeq. He left Germany for Egypt and eventually Syria, where he fought with the jihadist anti-government forces in the Syrian devastating war, under the name of Abu Talha Al-Almani (stands for the German Abu Talha).
